The Illyrian Volume I by Bryan Andrews

The Illyrian Volume I

by Bryan Andrews captured my attention because it is a historical novel that takes usinside the world of gladiatorial combat in
ancient Rome. Set at the turn of the 2nd Century A.D., The Illyrian follows the
exploits of a gladiator with a mysterious past and an uncertain future. Ariston
will not long remain a nameless slave as he climbs the ranks of Rome’s finest
gladiators. Nor will he be able to stay innocent of the sinister plots and
bloody schemes of Rome’s corrupt politicians. Follow Ariston as he fights his
way to glory, both in and out of the arena. This is a page turner for me and a magnificently visual start to an exciting series. I look forward to reading the next one.
